Oak Island

This is Sauvie Islands Wildlife Area.

2.9 mile easy loop. No elevation gain.

Meet at 10:00am in parking lot area.

Start Hike at 10:15am.

Directions: Off Hy 30 towards St. Helen’s. At 10 miles turn right across the Sauvie Island Bridge. Head North along Sauvie Island RD past a small grocery store. (Please pick up parking permit at this grocery store if you do not already have one– Need Sauvie Island Permit to park $3.50.). Continue to drive 1.8 miles past the store and turn right on Reeder Rd go 1.2 miles and turn left onto Oak Island Rd, go 2.7 miles across a Dike and continue straight for 0.4 mile to a parking area where the road is closed.

Bring Lunch or a snack. Bring water! We will hike at the pace of the children.

This is a flat surface – Jogger Strollers may be possible, I am told! However, I am not yet positive. I will try to find out – but be prepared just in case a jogger stroller is not possible.

Check Weather. Wear comfortable (layer?) Clothes & shoes.

You are responsible for you child(ren). Please come prepared for this hike!
